This turned out to be one of the coolest projects I have worked on. I was asked to make the decorations for a local grade school's Christmas play. I had all 500 kids from K-8th trace their hands on various shades of green construction paper and then cut them out (so I didn't have to!!)...I ended up with over 2000 hands since every kid got at least 4 hands traced per page! Then we glued them all in lines on to a triangle piece of butcher paper. The fingers/needles naturally curled from being rolled up to transport the huge thing to the performance hall. Paper, Elmer's glue and a little glitter...and TADHAA! It measures ten feet tall by 6 feet across. The younger students wanted to know where their hands were among them all. Good luck with that kiddos.
These pictures are from Christmas/Advent when I got to show with Carrie Rehak at her Oakland Studio. Fun times!
Today's project: ABC pocket books. I love little folded paper structures. Finished they measure 3" by 9" open and as usual are wrapped in string. The folder holds to cards the read "He repeated the letters of the alphabet over and over again asking God to arrange them into the words of an appropriate prayer"...and "Words for your own prayer". This is one of my favorite ways of approaching prayer. When you don't even know where to begin just start with the letters themselves!
